It’s official. Prince Harry has finally said goodbye to his life in the UK as a senior member of the British royal family and has arrived in Canada to be with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their son, Archie Harrison.

The Duke of Sussex was all smiles in the video footage captured by Sky News as he stepped off a jet on Vancouver Island and got into a waiting car at around 12:47 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday morning.

According to The Sun, Prince Harry actually skipped out on a reception for African leaders at Buckingham Palace on Monday because he couldn’t wait any longer to join his wife and son. Harry took a British Airways flight to Vancouver before connecting with a small plane to Vancouver Island. Instead of looking like royalty when he got off the plane, Harry was dressed in a black puffer jacket and jeans with a beanie on his head and carrying an Army bag.

The 35-year-old was joined by two royal protection officers that are still being paid for by British taxpayers. And, he was joined by three more officers in Vancouver before they all jumped on a West Jet turboprop hop.

A three-car caravan took Prince Harry from the airport on Vancouver Island to a private mansion so he could join his wife and son. Before he arrived, Markle was spotted walking her two dogs through a Vancouver Island park with Archie in a baby carrier. The Duchess of Sussex looked happy and care-free during her stroll.

Harry and Meghan were apart for 11 days after they made their shocking Megxit announcement earlier this month. Markle immediately headed back to Canada to be with Archie after she and Harry revealed they were stepping down as senior members of the royal family.

Harry stayed behind in London to work things out with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William. In the wake of the bombshell news, Harry and Meghan have given up their HRH titles and public money, and will instead be supported by Prince Charles for one year as the couple transitions to a private life in Vancouver.

While Meghan Markle will reportedly remain in Canada over the next few months, Prince Harry is expected to return for a few royal engagements in the coming weeks before he moves on completely to his new life in Canada in the spring.
