Matt Barnes has found success in family court. The celebrity father was awarded sole legal custody of his and Gloria Govan’s twin sons.
TMZ reports,
“Matt Barnes scored a big win in court today against his ex-wife Gloria Govan — the court awarded him sole physical and legal custody of their twin 10-year-old boys … TMZ Sports has learned.
The two have been at war for years — and today, Matt obtained an 18-month restraining order against Gloria claiming she’s a physical danger to him.
The restraining order was granted through May 2020 — but does not extend to the kids because the judge doesn’t believe Gloria poses a danger to them.”
Gloria Govan was arrested during Labor Day weekend after allegedly going into a rage and blocking Matt from leaving with their kids. Prosecutors declined to press charges against the celebrity mom for the incident, but Gloria’s judgment and subsequent parenting skills were brought into question after the incident. Derek Fisher reportedly came to court to speak on behalf of Govan on Thursday but, in the end, Barnes prevailed.
Gloria Govan was granted regular visitation that includes time spent with the boys from Friday to Monday morning. She also may spend dinner time with her and Matt Barnes’ sons every Wednesday. Matt and Gloria are still hashing out the details of holiday visits.
