The LA Galaxy made a potential club-record bid to sign Paraguay international winger Ramón Sosa from CA Talleres, sources briefed on the talks said Thursday.
No deal is agreed upon between the parties, but talks remain ongoing. The LA Galaxy’s current club-record transfer is the deal to sign Chicharito from Sevilla for around $9.5 million in 2020. A deal for Sosa is likely to be north of that figure.

Sosa, 24, had 10 goals and seven assists in 35 appearances (2,608 minutes) for Talleres across all competitions this year. He can play either the right or left side in attack.
Sosa has eight caps for Paraguay, appearing in all six of their World Cup qualifiers so far this cycle.
The Galaxy have two designated player slots open alongside star No. 10 Riqui Puig as they reload the group following an injury-riddled, disappointing 2023 season.
Chicharito and Douglas Costa are among the key players to depart, paving the way for a potential deal for a player of Sosa’s pedigree and finances.
In addition to Puig, the Galaxy are expected to return key players like Gastón Brugman, Mark Delgado, Maya Yoshida, Julián Aude and more. Sosa would be a premier addition to that group.
