The National Enquirer (via Radar Online) has a new story about how former Cosby Show matriarch, Phylicia Rashad, really feels about momager Kris Jenner. The main drawback to this story is that it’s off the record in that The Enquirer is claiming to have a source who tells them that Rashad hates Jenner, basically. I know it’s a tabloid, grain of salt and all that, but I believe it particularly because Rashad is no longer that famous. If they were going to invent a feud between Kris Jenner and one of the many influential people who think she’s awful, they would pick someone who is regularly in the news to pit her against. Here’s part of the story, with more juiciness in the upcoming Enquirer.
Kris Jenner might not like Honey Boo Boo’s mama June Shannon, but America’s other favorite TV mom Phylicia Rashad doesn’t like the Kardashian matriarch, according a new report.
As attorney Claire Huxtable on the wildly popular Cosby Show, the actress portrayed the ideal modern mom, and, according to the National Enquirer she believes Jenner to be far from that herself!
“She feels Kris represents everything shallow and vulgar about Hollywood,” an insider tells the Enquirer.
Kris has pushed her children to seek fame and fortune — from spreads in Playboy for Kim Kardashian to filming every second of their lives for reality TV, including Kourtney Kardashian giving birth twice on camera — and her actions have reportedly turned Phylicia against her.

Maybe Phylicia saw Kris’ recent appearance on The View and blabbed to her friends that she couldn’t stand her. I never thought of it this way, but for actors and actresses who bust their asses playing the game and remaining classy about it, particularly older actresses who conduct themselves with decorum like Phylicia, it’s got to sting to see people with no discernible talent dominating the headlines and earning millions slapping their names on product lines. That’s not how it was done even ten years ago, and all of a sudden there’s a new crop of “stars” we’re all talking about and watching on television. Sometimes, when I consider the sheer amount of reality shows about sh*t I never imagined anyone would care about, I feel really old. Yesterday I was glancing through the guide on my TV and I saw a show called something like “New England Linens.” I actually assumed it was a reality show about a small textile business until I realized that it was on the Home Shopping Network. It’s easy to point to Kris Jenner as the instigator of all these crap shows, but maybe she was just the inevitable precursor to this phenomenon, like that rat-type creature we may have all evolved from.
Oh and when I was looking for photos of Phylicia Rashad I found some of her at an NBC promotional event last month, which had me wondering what show she’s on. It turns out she was on that disastrous Do No Harm show, which got canceled after just two episodes. See that must burn.
Update: Thanks to BB for pointing out that Phylicia recently spoke out about reality show moms, and that it wasn’t just directed at Kris Jenner. So this story must be based on an interview she did on The Steve Harvey Show. Phylicia was shown images of reality show moms, and she said “I don’t know mothers who act like that. Do I really want to sit here and watch that? Is this what I want to do with the moments of this life?” Classy and to-the-point.
