After not releasing an album since their The Singles Collection 2001–2011 back in 2014, it turns out the Gorillaz (known for being shown animated) are back at it again with a new album for 2017! Although this much is true so far, we don’t want to keep our hopes up too high because the news was told to be announced by a fan-run Instagram account (GorillazNorthAmerica) who apparently got the news from the band’s co-creator, Jamie Hewlett.
Some of the fan’s caption stated, “WE GOT JAMIE NEWS! This here is HIM and our friend Linda. JAMIE says new GORILLAZ is special, really f*ckin special. Can’t be rushed. 2017,” along with the fan’s photo with Jamie. (Photo and rest of the caption below.)
But that’s good news right? At least it was from a reasonable source. Hewlett was known for confirming the group’s return in January of 2015, but it looks like that’s going to take a little longer. Although we have to wait another two years, we have no complaints!
