Being an only child, Chloe had an introvert childhood. She entertained herself through drawing and reading which helped her get extremely good grades in English Literature and History.

She also developed a knack for impersonations and mimicking accents whenever she traveled with her parents to other parts of UK.

Chloe enjoyed horse riding as a kid and reconnected with her childhood hobby while shooting for Troy: Fall of a City in South Africa.

Now as an actor, Chloe tends to pick up the accent of people she talks to, so most people do not realize she is Scottish. People often mistake her for a Canadian, South American or from Western England. She even comes back home with an American accent every time she visits Los Angeles.

The actress describes herself as muddled, instinctive, and imaginative.

Had her acting career not taken off, Chloe would have chosen to join a culinary school as her back up career plan since cooking is one of her favorite activities to unwind and relax.

She discovered that acting relieved her from her anxiety-prone thoughts because she got to become a different person who acted from another person’s perspective.

By 2015, Chloe had work experience as a former employee of countless restaurants, pubs, and cafés. Even when she started booking acting jobs, she continued working in the hospitality industry because she hates waiting for the next project.

Working jobs as a waitress / bartender gave Chloe a better understanding of acting as a craft. It also taught her humility since the hospitality staff has no status and is commonly treated badly.

When Chloe was only getting one episode guest roles in 2012 & 2013, people often recognized her from her TV appearances while she continued flipping burgers and taking up temporary jobs as a waitress.

Chloe takes an instant dislike to anybody who is rude to a waiter / waitress.

Downton Abbey actress Laura Carmichael is one of her closest friends.

Before the filming for Shell (2012) was initiated, Chloe had to live with her co-star Joseph Mawle for two weeks in a secluded cottage in the Scottish Highlands to get to know him better.
