Fall has officially begun, and the spirit of the season is alive and well at Walt Disney World. The swingin’ wake known as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is in full effect, giving Guests to the Magic Kingdom a spooky good time. The party is full of trick or treating, brilliant stage shows, and an all new fireworks experience hosted by The Pumpkin King Himself: Jack Skellington.
In addition to the major attractions, there are a ton of smaller, can’t miss experiences spread throughout the park during the party. Over the last few weeks, we’ve talked about the lovely ghosts Carlotta and Renatta, and Butler Broome, as well as the haunting melodies of the Cadaver Dans. This week let’s take a look at some of the Halloween Twists added to some of your favorite attractions.
Space Mountain
When Guests step onto Space Mountain during the Halloween Party, they’ll find themselves launched into an interstellar journey with an all-new soundtrack. To add an extra layer of terror to the experience, Guests will hurtle through the cold depths of space in total darkness. That’s right. Disney has turned out all the lights. They say that in space, no one can hear you scream. Space Mountain’s Halloween overlay sets out to prove them wrong.
Pirates of the Caribbean
While most of the park is visited by restless spirits during the Halloween Party, Pirates of the Caribbean literally comes alive. Guests who venture onto the high seas will experience a hunt for treasure with a live crew of pirates scattered throughout the entire attraction.
The Mad Tea Party
The Mad Hatter’s tea party has always been a bit…well, mad, spinning Guests into a brain scrambled state, but during the Halloween Party it reaches whole new levels. The lighting and soundtrack are both changed to meet the Halloween theme.
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
New to this year’s party is a holiday overlay to the Monster’s, Inc. Laugh Floor. Follow the candy trail onto the laugh floor, and then spend a little time with the monsters as they learn all about the curious human traditions of Halloween. They’re sure to tell a few jokes that will leave you howling.
